Why didn’t we refine our own oil instead of letting turkey do it?

You need expertise and skill to refine oil.
All you need is Project Engineers, Process Engineers, Refinery Design Engineers, Chemical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Corrosion Engineers, Instrument & Electrical Reliability Engineers, Structural Engineers, Control Panel Operators, Shift Supervisors, Pump System Operators, Gaugers, Boilermakers, Millwright Pipefitters, Welders and Cutters and Ironworkers

Present your findings to the Somali government.

It's a 100 year old technology.

If we can't imitate that then we're not fit to be called homosapiens.

Fractional distillation is so simple you could explain it to a 5 year old.

Also we can borrow against our deposit licenses to fund these plants.

The only reason we aren't doing is corruption.

Much less transparency when you're just piping out raw crude instead of oil products which have to be stored and marketed.

No doubt there's even kickbacks for reselling the processed fuels back to us through imports.

Civilisation is a 5000 year technology, yet many can't achieve it.

Civilisation is a 5000 year technology, yet many can't achieve it.

That's because they haven't been exposed to it or due to geography like us.

Our resources didn't have the carrying capacity to feed a whole city and neither did we have nearby people to trade with other than disparate small clans.

The nearest large settlements where physically thousands of miles away from us.

No river systems to help us get there.

Yes we should crowdfunded our own oil company and use professional Somali engineers to get the job done
I know at least 13 Somali Chemical and Petroleum Engineers in the UK alone. It doesn't make sense why the government can't invest in these engineers and provide them with the facilities to extract and refine the gasses. Or even learn from the Turks while they're here.

I am in good touch with the petroleum minisister of somalia apparantly somalia will establish an oil company and only sell 15 blocks out of the 400+ block (The Saudi model)

How senior are they? 13 graduates aren't very useful on their own.

Do you know how expensive an oil refinery is? and who would invest in an oil refinery in Somalia knowing how dangerous it is
