Why are there so many somalis in Scandinavia?

I have noticed there is a big population of somalis in countries like Sweden, Norway, Denmark etc. I was curious as to why on earth would somalis go to cold, isolating, homogeneous cadaan countries? Not to mention most of those societies are very hard to integrate into, it's not like the UK, Germany, Netherlands and France where there are already other immigrant minorities whom have lived there for decades so the natives are already kinda used to seeing people of colour.

I keep seeing memes of foreigners ridiculing somalis by calling Sweden the new "Somalia" because of the shit ton of second generation somali youth getting in to gangs, abuse of benefits, violence and overall just ruining the image of somali immigrants globally. I have also noticed the identity crisis going on in many Scandinavian somalis, I literally saw a somali girl get asked where she's from and she said that she's "Norwegian" thats like a pale white south African calling themselves "African"

He's right, walaashay. Cayr lacag and benefits are good in Scandinavia and their low populations + bleeding hearts made them serviceable for immigration. Simple as, I would say.

No because scandinavian countries have the highest quality of life in the world and are the least racist. Not only is it free to study you actually get paid to study.

That took me out when I first heard it from a reer Scando cousin. They legit give you some sort of allowance or a decent sum every month to encourage you into going to Uni which in itself is free. Bismillah.

I would love to see more Somali diaspora concentrated cities across the west. There are a quarter of a million Somalis apparently in London. Thats large enough to be a major city.

I would prefer for us somalis not to contribute to the west at all (or any non-somali region for that matter) and take matters in to our hands e.g. going in to somali politics, perhaps having a well educated young somali diaspora leader who isn't led by greed and qabiil, as well as brining certain privileges we experienced in the west such as higher education, jobs, medical health care etc. In to Somalia, Somaliland and Djibouti.

I see many well accomplished hardworking somalis contributing all their money and investment in to places like the West or Kenya which sadness me a bit because we often forget how blessed our own land can be, but then again it's not the diaspora responsibility to fix the mess the generation before us caused.

Any brokeass Somali (90%) living in the states will also get paid to go to uni due to refunds. I'm getting almost 2k this semester and know a xalimo that consistently gets back ~700-800 USD. Not really something exclusive to Europe sxb

Imagine living in white Sweden & being a Somali thug lol, College is Literally free, free healthcare, they get free money for nothing. They also get a slap on the wrist for any crime they commit.

In America once you’re an uneducated, broke felon in your 20’s life will be tough.
