The amount of trust they have in a total stranger is astonishing, you could've took that baby lol it's irresponsible tbh. Just because I'm Somali doesn't mean I'm a good person, what if I'm a pycho and harm those kids?Somali mothers always give me their cards to buy them formula or milk at the grocery store because A) they don't want to take all the kids with them B) they can't find parking lot.
Last winter a Somali dad asked me to watch his sleeping baby in the car while he ran to grab something from target. It was snowing, so I had to sit in the car and watch the baby.
True. In somalia I was shocked to find out kids as long as they are old enough to walk can go to other kids house to playBecause where they come from, nothing really happened aside from killing each other. If they weren't at war, it would be safe especially for kids.
This is true but we are not in Somalia, the people here have been influenced by the environment they live in so I wouldn't trust my kid with someone just because he/she is Somali.Because where they come from, nothing really happened aside from killing each other. If they weren't at war, it would be safe especially for kids.
exactly. My mom recalls just one rape in her 30+ years that she lived in Somalia. No rape, no sexual abuse of children either. They either fought and killed each other(probably engaged in some war rape as well, though I am only speculating here) but people hardly went out of their way to prey on women or kids or even men. That's why they are too trusting. If some of those things were happening, they wouldn't be too trusting at all.True. I get its safe but that is too much freedom for a child.
Before the war they used to have suuq at night and both men and women could sell valuable items, like jewelry and there was no fear of getting robbed
Agreed 100%. She obviously doesn't share that opinion. This is true but we are not in Somalia, the people here have been influenced by the environment they live in so I wouldn't trust my kid with someone just because he/she is Somali.
Well I believe most rapes go unreported any way... But I believe in general it was safer for women and kids to go outside aloneexactly. That's a small list lol what about her siblings or your siblings?Agreed 100%. She obviously doesn't share that opinion.
I wouldn't allow anyone who isn't my wife, my mother or her mother around my kids.
That's a small list lol what about her siblings or your siblings?
This actually reminds me of a conversation I recently had with a friend, she was basically paranoid leaving her 2 year old daughter with her uncle. I can't believe where we live in our world we have to worry about 2 year old getting abused.
I know it was so random, I couldn't say no because he really looked like he was in a hurry and there was an infant sleeping, Somalis are too trusting when it comes to other Somalis but if an ajnabi is involved they don't trust them lolThe amount of trust they have in a total stranger is astonishing, you could've took that baby lol it's irresponsible tbh. Just because I'm Somali doesn't mean I'm a good person, what if I'm a pycho and harm those kids?
Somalis also have no boundaries it seems, they ask things other people wouldn't dare ask like this one lady at karmel who knocked on my uncle's window to parallel park the car for her lol our people waa cajiib lol
I completely get the paranoia but I also don't want that fear to stop me from trusting my own family. I grew up going to my aunt's and uncle's houses, staying over the night and spending time with my cousins. I want my kids to have that same experience.I am as paranoid as your friend. The world is a mess right now so yeah, no uncles or aunts for me.
That doesn't mean they are bad people, I'd prefer not to find out.
Mothers can abuse kids too. So you wouldnt let your brother or sister near your kidsI am as paranoid as your friend. The world is a mess right now so yeah, no uncles or aunts for me.

I wouldn't leave them alone with them, no. If kids aren't ur own, it's easy to be negligent. It isn't always about abuse.Mothers can abuse kids too. So you wouldnt let your brother or sister near your kids![]()
I might be paranoid. Who knows, I might do the same with my kids.I completely get the paranoia but I also don't want that fear to stop me from trusting my own family. I treat my nieces and nephews as my ownI wouldn't leave them alone with them, no. If kids aren't ur own, it's easy to be negligent. It isn't always about abuse.
Maybe to help ease your paranoia you can control the environment until they are able to speak, your kid can tell you if he was fed or mistreated in this case.I might be paranoid. Who knows, I might do the same with my kids.
Some people aren't as good as u. For example, I wouldn't want to baby sit kids because I find them annoying. I don't think I would tolerate it much if they weren't mine.I treat my nieces and nephews as my own![]()
I want to live back home. It will be easier.Maybe to help ease your paranoia you can control the environment until they are able to speak, your kid can tell you if he was fed or mistreated in this case.
