Why are Somali gangs a thing if the father is around?

Unless I'm mistaken, most of these kids don't come from your traditional single mother broken homes. The Father is usually present at least physically.

Key Answer. No Discipline and inactive father figure. A child without a supportive father is no different to a child without a father. I’ve noticed that all the boys who don’t join gangs or cause trouble have fathers that discipline them at an early age and keep track of their Daily activity until they become older. A child should fear the consequences of their own actions otherwise the father has failed to keep respect.

The Father should also try and prevent disgusting Rap & music from being played inside the house. Only Quran iyo Nasheedo. Rap music talks about sex, violence and drugs which is bad influence. Teach the young kids to love the Deen and taking them to Islamic schools if available.

It’s like rubi rose a degenerate who grew up under parents who were a lawyer and dentist, but took on the identity of a gang member; they want to be cool and fit in. I always says either you bend your ass to the foreign culture and people or you make them follow you. There is no middle ground. These kids/adults just don’t have the minerals to stand up against the grain, have a very weak soul and submit to the foreign culture/attitude around them which is everything against their home culture. Very very bizarre but not something unique to Somalis. Ja Morant is another, black NBA player who was from a good home and suburbs but adopted a gangeester identity when he got rich.

Being around physically isn't enough. The father needs to actually be an active parent in order for there to be an effect. Imagine if a mother was just physically present, but didn't do much parenting. Do you think the child would turn out okay?

They grow up in environments where they’re surrounded by other boys who don’t have a stable home life. Those boys turn to crime, and in an effort to fit in, so do the boys who are from a loving home. Your environment is responsable for so much when it comes to your outcome in life.

The father is inactive probably at work all day than sleep without caring to teach and involve themselves in being there for their sons. Is more than just being present physically.

Exactly I was told by my father and uncles to stop hanging around with those types early on, my best friend started smoking at 11, I ended up moving from the area shortly, the way I grow up, I always disliked following the trendy thing, my uncle smoked and he quite 10 years ago after marrying, he always told me to never start and it was hard to get off them.

Im glad you never fell into the wrong crowds walaal. It’s so important to have a mind of your own and be able to make your own decisions. Parents need to know who their children’s friends are, the people around a child will greatly influence them.
