By lawlessness I mean from 1980 up to now. Let's see what majority of Somali spoters blame.

Siyad Barre (AUN) suspending the constitution and banning political parties. After him I blame Aideed the most for the all innocent people he killed and the lands he invaded with his clansmen. Without Aideed there would be no civil war and with our Barre there would have been a peaceful handover of power.

Somali people in Somalia are responsible for Somalia's problems, just like Dutch people in the Netherlands are responsible for their country's stability. Stop looking for sympathy and being a victim. Pick your self up. Let's pick ourselves up. If we do introspection and fix the problems, we'll take credit for it and have bragging right. I'd post a picture of boot straps but you might not get it.

Oh you reminded me. Yes, Islam plays a role in the misery but it's not the dispositive factor. Somali culture is responsible. It's a culture that promotes group-think and discourages individualism and innovation. And are you correcting me?

Us/diaspora most people who had the means to leave did. The country is now mostly the poor and weak who couldnt, the people who are the cause for violence, Or the ones who have grown up around the violence and become mentally compromised and qashin people from the diaspora sent back. But lets be real, we'd rather stay where we are even though we are somalias last hope. The whole going back when it gets better thing is a pipe dream

Most of us say we want to 'go back and help' but 99% of us won't and will have kids here. That's the harsh reality
