Not just that but the parallels between the two are similar. The main character of both are from big well known families, and are tasked with leading desert dwelling people to a greater destiny. A hyped Reformer type figure is referenced in both stories.

Dune has a lot of inspiration from Arab culture / Islam but the movie has de-Islamicized it tbh

In the book Paul is referred to as Mahdi and is known as Muad'Dib. His war is also called Jihad in the book but crusade in the movie lol.
