White woman selling somali aswell as other ethnic group jewelry on etsy and most of her customers seem to be middle aged yt women

I feel so uncomfortable that this white woman somehow has this Somali necklace from 1910 in her possessions when most somalis don't even have these anymore as it has quite literally has disappeared and she's also charging 1k to buy this, when i looked into the ratings of all the other ethnic jewelry she sells it seems that most of the people in the reviews have white people names like 'Rosanna', how dare this white woman capitalise and sell a part of our culture with us ethnic somalis barely have access too, white people are literally profiting of our lost culture people wtf

Smart, she's now prove there a market the whole time and took the opportunity

She made a market out of Vintage Somali jewelry, where did she get them from to begin with? Imagine the things that could have been family heirlooms on this white lady's etsy page UF

Where did she find them and how do we know it’s authentic? For all we know she could be scamming them.

Instead of complaining, if authentic, us Somalis should be buying them up. We need take back our historical jewellery.

i will never get over how somali jewellery and somali hairstyles are now mostly forgotten by somalis

look how beautiful this guntiino looks with a xirsi necklace, these necklaces were typically made out of amber and sliver

now when somalis where guntiino, they never wear it with traditional somali necklaces

example, i have nothing against gold, but its weird how other ethnic groups like ethiopians, and amazigh still wear their cultural jewellery with their dresses

tbh this art of making jewellery should have never died, their should be hundreds of artisans/craftmakers in somalia continuing the legacy of these traditions

these people never stole it, and even if they did, whats them having one necklace going to do? i think its the fault of somalis for not preserving their culture, we dont even wear these jewellery when wearing guntiino anymore for some reason
