My parents are not from the same tribe and they were far from each other, but yes, I noticed that cardiovascular diseases, anemia, etc. are common in people married to the same tribe.

Never marry close relatives especially first cousins. I know a few malis that did that and that's why their kids are not as good looking as Somalis who have mixed tribe kids.
