It is probably the most racist European government at the moment in terms of treating refugees.

Between 1 January 2020 and 1 April 2021, Denmark stripped at least 380 Syrian refugees of their residency permits or did not renew their residency permit at the Danish Immigration Service. They were asked to return to so called “safe zones” in Syria. These refugees could face torture, enforced disappearance and arbitrary detention if forced back, said Amnesty International.

“It beggars belief that Danish authorities could deem certain parts of Syria – a country where people are routinely detained, disappeared and tortured – safe for return.”

Deportations are not happening at the moment due to lack of diplomatic ties. Those affected are supposed to stay in the return centres until deportations resume – or until they decide to return to Syria “voluntarily”. Basically the will remain in prisons until they contact Syrian Gov. And they are contacting with Rwanda to host these refugees, like WTF

I find it funny how Scandinavian countries have to bear the brunt of the white guilt of the western world and so posture as the most progressive place and put signs up for refugees to come, but they don’t really have much to feel guilty for considering history and their lack of involvement in slavery or colonialism.

This is why Scandinavian racists are even emboldened, cause their go to argument is that, unlike much of Western Europe, they haven’t done anything to warrant an onslaught of foreigners and migrants in their homeland, compared to UK or France, who obviously ruined and robbed dozens of nations. This is literally the future of refugees/immigrants in Europe. Many are going to be returned even if they have their papers/passport. This is why I’ve been saying somalis in Europe need to stop being comfortable and considering Sweden or Norway as your country because these people just view you as a guest that eventually needs to go back
