I wished they'd sent us to after school club to do extra studies or pick up a sport. Good fitness and extra studies in earlier ages would have had enormous mental & physical health benefits for us in later life.

You can still learn, mate. Going back home for a couple of months will do wonders for your language skills. You'll also experience the culture up close and personal.
