The Baggara are nomadic Arab tribes that descend from the admixture of Juhaniya Arabs and Nubians in the 13th Century; they then migrated West into Darfur and Chad in the 14-18th Centuries and mixed with some of the tribes of Darfur-Chad.

Also, the Baggara Rizeigat, T'aisha, Salamat and Misseriya have waged racial themed wars against the Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa.
