What would have happened if somalia and somaliland stayed separated and didn't unite 1960? feel free to say what ever scenario comes to your mind

Most likely Somaliland would remain peaceful and Somalia would probably be chaotic as it is today. Don't be upset at me, I'm just stating my opinion.

It would be interesting considering that the country probably wouldn’t have gone to war in 77 since there would be no greater Somalia. I think somalia may have actually had a chance at peace if we continued our democracy from the 60s without having a military that we couldn’t maintain...

Assuming Somaliland keeps SSC then it'd be chaos the clans would fight each other. If they separate with only the isaaq lands+ awdal then they'd look similar to how djibouti is right now. As for Somalia 77 war probably wouldn't happen so Siad Barre would manage to stay in power past 91. My guess is that he'd be disposed of eventually but I doubt the civil war would go out of control and a govt would be able to be formed. Somalia would look better than it is today.
