What would 2023 in Somalia look like if there wasn’t any civil war?

Richer version of Niger.
We already are. Also we aren’t landlocked, and their country is similar to Somalia today in terms of politics/division unlike pre 1991 somalia. I think by the turn of the 21st century, we would be an oil producing country.

Niger's HDI is 0.4, Somalia's is lower. If MSB survived, we'd just be a giant Djibouti, stable not much else

NFD+Galbeed being a part of Somalia is the big what-if. The land from Garissa-Xamar is cash money, imo it'd be able to function. Basically a Sudan, still a shithole but semi-respectable and good management away from being decent

I think we would be a middle income country with a gdp per capita between $3-6000 by now

what’s so special about garissa-xamar?

Don’t think somalia would be in the same state as Sudan and Niger. We are much more of a strategic country in terms location to be in such a shit position if there was always stable peace. We would have been a key trading country and could have taken advantage of the Red Sea trade route whilst also establishing another vital trade route in the Indian ocean
