What/who is in the way of Somalia rising?

and whatever it is, is it really this insurmountable? The current government's tenure is almost up, and he did NOTHING to move the country forward. His predecessor was the same? I know foreigners have strong grip on the country but with honest leaders and patriotic citizens, shouldn't this be something we can overcome? The only challenge i see here is that most Somalis aren't really educated enough to even understand how much they've lost, and how much more they stand to lose? That coupled with everyone's first priority being making ends meet. Countries that currently have vested interests in the country and who are dumping in so much money:
UK
USA
UAE
the EU

the african countries(these are only here because of the ones I mentioned above)
Kenya
Ethiopia
Burundi
Rwanda

As you'd expect, I blame qabiil first and foremost, followed by corruption and lack of nationalism in both the leaders and the people but I give the people a pass for the reasons I mentioned above. The leaders tho, those mfs really need a divine intervention to stop them. Just today, they were meeting in Kenya about the future of Somalia, how they can still do that and get away with it is wild!

Politicians. If they did thier job somalia would easily improve 10x. We need responsive, works for the people, provides security and justice. Also make a peace deal with alshabab puntland and sl to trade across Somalia and encourage foreign somali investment

we just need one qabil to win the civil war and that qabil leads in cadaalad, the same way galla have won thecivil war against tigray and amhara and rule those to, the same waytigray won over amhara and galla in 1991 . we just need a new winner. we just need that the winner acts as a winner, the hawiye in 1991 who won the war against siyad barre didnt act as winners.

The people themselves are the problem. The politicians reflect the society and this will remain true until the common folk strive for better.

There is a serious lack of accountability that persists currently among somalis.

The clan elders are not taking responsibility of their clan members. Qaaraan bixi, but whats gonna happen to that money? Nothing eventually. They say qabyaalad is strong because clans fill the role of the government laakiin dadkeena faqri ee ku noolyihiin. What a contradiction.

Wadaads are not taking responsibility, they have in fact run away from it. They should rise up and advocate against the moral decay that is slowly destroying our people. Instead they have given up on calling people to the right path and holding people accountable.

Men are not taking responsibility of their families and their fate. Ayaga oo shaqolacaan ah eeba diidaayaan inee xamali shaqeystaan. Pathetic and unmanly.

Everybody blames others and nobody works for to solve the problem and that is being accountable. Nobody holds wrongdoers accountable and they do not hold themselves accountable. This is how you get a the shitshow thats Somalia.

The mentality of Somalis back home obviously. There’s a lack of motivation maybe we need to produce mass propaganda and motivate people to work towards making our country a better place. One person can’t change everything everyone has to do the work!

To tackle the problem first one needs to know that there is a problem. No one in Somalia thinks there is a problem they are talking about elections and selections when the country is in ruined and under alshabaab and amisom occupation

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

The Somali society is a tribal society with almost similar values to those of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Brunei , Jordan etc. Those societies are nomadic or semi nomadic societies with complex tribal rivalries.

That's why our society can only function with monarchy or strong centralized leadership. Here’s why:

1. Unity of Tribes – Nomadic tribes are usually organized around clans, lineages, or kinship networks. While this provides internal cohesion, it often produces rivalry between clans. A monarch (king, emir, sultan, etc.) helps unify them under one recognized authority. One guy and his descendants have the sole right to rule, all tribes will get behind that man and see him as a uniting figure that can easily tackle their chaotic rivalries. Democracy breeds more tension and civil wars ignited by tribal and communal hatred post elections, politicians with selfish ill intentions can easily take advantage of such divisions and cause more disharmony to further their political aspirations. In monarchy such devils will never even smell the throne.

2. Warfare and Expansion – tribal nomadic societies like ourselves frequently depended on raiding, conquest, and pastoral expansion. A monarchy provides centralized command in war, essential for organizing the military, distributing booty, and leading large campaigns.

3. Legitimacy and Tradition – a Somali monarch and his descendants will be the legitimate rulers for all eternity once endorsed by the tribes, succesful examples are monarchies in gulf countries, Jordan, Brunei etc.

4. Mobility and Administration – Unlike sedentary states that could rely on bureaucracies and cities, nomadic societies need a simpler, more mobile governing system. A monarch with trusted tribal chiefs is easier to maintain than a sprawling parliament or council.

Somalia will never be a stable democratic country considering the complex tribal rivalries within its borders. It will never materialise, don't WAIT FOR IT.

Somalia is being held back by federalism. Somalia should be made up of just the 18 regions, like we were as the Somali Republic. It would be like the prefectures of Japan or the regions of Italy like Campania, Abruzzo or Tuscany

Th one clan that committed mass ethnic cleansing in the 90s, and then turned the guns on each other for 1 until we had to get a completely new government installed for them to “stop”.

They’re also absolutely incompetent at EVERY level of governance.
