To the best of my knowledge, none of the PL or SL political parties have a manifesto or political foundation.

Don’t get me wrong, they could have policies or different opinions from one another.

But in the US for example, the Democrats are the party of the worker and the Republicans are the business party, no matter what. Everything else comes second.

Is Kaah left-wing or right-wing or centre-left or centrist?

What is the core foundation of each party, which demographic do they represent.

This is critical to a democracy or else people are just going to vote on qabiil or magac.

I wasn't impressed with their political agenda either. How hard is it for them to get current statistics on PL water coverage rate, food security, health access, literacy rates, taxation sources/rates, infrastructure,. Then beginnng discussing between their party representatives on how to tackle each issue, which ones is a priority, how it will be achieved and how long. What will the end result statistic look like.

Totally pathetic, all i saw was 'party chants' not any real policy that got me interested. PL is in the 'recovery/reconstruction era' and they need to discuss how we will finish the tasks needed in this era before shifting towards a middle income nation. I was impressed how the International community said 'puntland will need to fund it's own election' it means, we are considered lower-middle income and not 'dead poor' like SL or the south.

The less aid a region gets means they know there is more economic activity and revenues there in comparison to somewhere with high rates of donor aid.

@Periplus I am worried about literacy rates. Nearly 5000 votes were considered 'khasaaro' it's most likely that segment of the population can not read or write. I am also stunned at the amount of 'pictures' displayed on businesses in PL, not good indicators on literacy rate when ppl need to see 'images' on stores before entering. Reminds me of ancient egypt writing using images, and that was 5000 years ago. Shocking

I notice that Farmaajo fanboys cheer for Asad and Mideeye. First of all, Puntland is none of their business. Unless they want to tell us that they are all from that small tuulo called Saaxo. Lmao

Secondly, these fools forget that his father fought for SSDF.

So, waste your time by cheering for one MJ against another all you want, at the end of the day, nobody will support your plans.

@cow is to late trying to infilitrate PL party. Abdiqasim sent Jama ali Jama to create a war arguing about Abdillahi illegal extension even tho his hidden agenda was to stop Puntland existence and end federalism.

PL have learned from that day on-wards no-one is going to fight each other over the south in PL again.

Farmaajo's gang has always tried desperately to recruit Puntland. Imagine being so weak and small in number, that you are expecting your historic enemy to save you.

Adeer Asad, or Adeer Deni. They are both sons of Majeerteenia and the The Kingdom does not play 2nd fiddle to the Centralist Kacaanists.

@DR OSMAN

Imo policy comes second.

First is the party foundation and identity. What is the political party at its essence?

Is it pro-worker, pro-business or pro-environment?

Is it left or right or in between?

Do they believe in the free market or a mixed market?

These are the first things a party establishes, as its what identifies them no matter who leads the party in the future.

Without this, PL will morph into a sham democracy.

That's is also partly because it was confusing, you have to write on the number, a lot of people wrote next to the logo and their votes were cancelled.

What I didn't understand is calling political parties "urur"

Urur is the Somali word for union and in the political context, its used to describe trade unions.

Xisbi is the word political parties, ik its a loan word but urur is also incorrect.

Urur means organization/party not unity.
Mideenta = unifcation
Midnimo = unity
Mideeye = to unite

Regardless, the word urur in a political context is used for trade unions not political parties.

Somalis have used the word "xisbi" for political parties.

Example: Xisbiga Hantiwadaaga Kacaanka Soomaaliya (Somali Revolutionary Socialist Party)
