What next for Somaliland

Now that Dhulbahante has left Somaliland and Warsangeli practically already gone, what will become of the Somaliland project? The only thing keeping them going was the illusion of ictiraaf and with the Laas Caanood Declaration being the final nail in that coffin, and with the Darod boogeyman gone, what will keep the feuding Habros together? Will the Habros engage in much needed soul searching and ask themselves why their project failed, or will they turn against each other again?

What will Samaroon do now the political climate has changed? Will they keep paying lip service to the SNM project or will they decide to change course? Due to their geographical position between Jabuuti, Ogadenia, and Somaliland, Samaroon will not have much room for manoeuvre so it will be interesting to see what direction they take.

Reer hargeisa Will be heading to the capital to form an alliance with reer muqdisho taking with them somaliland. The pressure from Dblock will push them closer to muqdisho as it’s already happening from what I have seen. The founders of SNM have been politically sidelined from somaliland and had never touched the presidency that will also be a big test for somaliland this coming election if it happens.

As someone who wants Dhulbahante to win are we sure we can count out SL? Aren't they supposed to be supported by the west? I am fairly new to this whole politics stuff but im sure SL would of gotten training from the west and even weapons because they are seen as the darling of the west. It feels like there's a new Youtube video everyday talking about somaliland being different from the "chaotic" Somalia. So does the SL military just suck ass or are they biding their time to strike when its right? Also I have seen something online about a plane from Bulgaria landing in SL and it supposedly carried weapons but I don't know how true that is. Not to mention there is whole heap of oil in the sool region which I don't think SL will give up on.

However if it is the case that SL just suck ass them I am just surprised how militarily weak they are lol which is good for us. Like wtf have they been doing the last 30 years. Also was sanaag already free before all this ? Again Im new to somali politics

I had no idea that was the case. That makes sense as to why Puntlanders stayed away from this mess. I always wondered why there was beef between the harti brothers.

Somaliland has hit rock bottom. 30 plus years of searching for ictiraf has led to no avail. And this was when they had support from reer Las Canood/ reer Sool. Now that reer Sool seem to have left SL it looks like ictiraf will NEVER EVER come. My condolences to Jamhuuriyadda barakaysan.

People need to relax and stop coming to conclusions, its too early to tell either way, this situation is still playing out. Today is only the third day of the conflict.
