I had a hard time understanding my sijui relatives when they spoke Somali sijui to me That accent sounds very weird(in a good way) but also very miskiin

Well, you don't say stuff like waayee, you say weeye, you don't say stuff like waxan ku dhahay, you say things like waxan ku yidhi
you don't say Gogol xaar, you say Gogol xaadh. You need to know when you use the dh and not the R.

I would say waa, waxaa waaye/ and waa are commonly mixed up and since its understood most somali parents wont bother to correct you
