Ask any foreigner in Asia if they know anything about Somalia and the answer is always pirates. In the West, usually poverty and terrorism. Depending on the country in Africa, good businessman and religious people.

If I was African, I'd think there still a failed state but somewhat entrepreneurial people and welcoming.

I think all semi aware Somalis would have similar conclusions if they weren't Somali themselves.

I can say positive things about Somalis, that were courageous God fearing people who display great hospitality to each other at time. However the nation is going through its dark age and trying to sugar coat it ain't going to do anything.
