What Is Somalia Foreign Policy

Besides the usual begging tours, which only addressed the short-term. Can someone answer me this?

1. What is Somalia foreign policy posture?
2. How does Somalia see the World?
3. Who are important and why?
4. What new partners have been sought?

Foreign policy has different dimensions. Their is historical/cultural dimension like Islamic world, but then there is 'continental' or regional due to location. Then there is competing world powers and their various 'axises' of influence. Then there is 'political' alliances those who share a similar system and set of public values(human rights, islamism, communism, democracy). Their is security alliances and trade alliances

There is a number of postures applied by world powers such as 'soft and gradual over a long-term' or hard and swift(regime changes) or totally 'neutral' like Oman.

Which camp will Somalia fall into and what will be it's posture in these areas

1. Security alliance is important to protect your own existence
2. Trade partners are next and even they are 'weighed' depending on the items they provide and how we must 'diversify this' so we are not held hostage due to concentrating our trade.
3. Political alliance depends on your country system and public values
4. Cultural/Historical which is identity alliance, this must be ranked the lowest.
5. Regional/Continental due to the 'location' factor

What philosophy is going to be applied 'isolation' or global outlook(we are not an island approach'.

@anon2 u like these topics but please speak at a 'theory or philosophical' level rather then 'hard details at lower level' like specific countries, cuz we will be here all day if we don't know what ur guiding philosophy is.

Knowledge Transfer partners should be ranked as NO 1 priority for Somalia irrespective of security/trade/political/cultural/historical aspects.

We can slowly work our way down and put a 'rank' of importance on the different 'spheres' and then the partners.

@anon2 this was 1 area siyad neglected knowledge transfer partners and kept to the 'trade mentality' and we saw what that led too, but thankfully siyad made a 'move' for us to learn from unlike the clowns after him. That's why I say I live and die by the philosophy 'any move is better then no move'. A decision made is better then no decision. Good/bad comes afterwards which is better then 'nothingness'.

That's why I slam Puntland who is in this posture of 'idlness' since 2009-2023, longer then 91-98 period, it's the worst outcome to remain 'idle' like SL. Any move good or bad leads to lesson learned or success but no move leads to regrets or missed opportunities only.

@anon2 I respect what china did with their economy, but in terms of innovation they are 'centuries' behind, they copy what the west did earlier or russia.

The culture simply cannot foster innovation but only 'good students', they have a strict heirachy culture which only can lead to their minds being shaped to master in 'obedience' not 'innovate'. So they can be book-smart but that's where it all ends for them.

To innovate u need creativity on top of knowledge learned, u need to know how to open up your imagination on the 'topic' your learning, this requires a 'culture' that fosters 'free minds' or else it's impossible.

Now Russia is a different story who do innovate and proved they went to space first when America countered by going to the Moon so they can claim 'they went to the moon first'. Plus a-lot of innovators in science are from Russia.

But where they lead is 'security innovation' and this is something we need desperately as a priority. We sent lots of our students to china and not much was gained and I explained the reason, we need to focus on moscow for our knowledge sphere but we need to ensure the society they live in fosters FREEDOM, if their mind is not free early, it will be impossible to teach them how to be creative or apply imagination on their area of interest.

@anon2 The process to open ur imagination is well known. U need to revert to how u were a child before that was stamped out from you by the rigid schoolin process. But imagination is useless without underlying knowledge first or else kids would innovate.

So what we need to do is teach them knowledge and then show them the process to open up their imagination to value add on their area of expertise. This will generate 'innovators' across every field for Somalis. But the society itself must promote 'freedom' or else the mind is closed and they can't value add with closed minds, they will live and die and contributed nothing beneficial like animals. Yes human value can be like those of animals if u don't contribute anything.
