Rome had a large army but not to an extent of controlling mainland usa. they will likely conquer parts of the Carolinas, coastal georgia, and palm beach florida, may be some colonies in the Caribbean islands as well.

They would abandon America. Rome had hard times with the Germanic people and lost why don't you think they will have hard time with native Americans
