This is completely untrue, northern protestant Europe is historically more wealthy and advanced than the poorer catholic south. Don't forget who ruled half the world at one point as well.

Yeah you are correct in Switzerland but in Germany it is exactly the opposite. Important is also that east Germany was wholly protestant before communism:
