the macawis, dont mind those fools

somalis(and some other horners) have distinctive patterns that aren’t found in the asian lungi
Maasai (admixed Nilo Saharan + Cushitc) wear macawiis as well. It macawiis is Lungi as some people claim, how did the Maasai, a people who are landlocked without any access to the ocean, attain the outfit? Endless it is... Indigenous?

u r confusing the "thing" with the name. the label macawiis is derived from the Yemeni Arabic word (معوز). The thing ( sarong, lungi, loin cloth, short kilts) is worn by all cushitic people( tutsi, iraqwa, rendile, gabbra, and many others) and even ancient Egyptians.

This modern short kilts(macawiis) is imported from aden, yeman. Then the bootleg of macawiis is still imported from Indonesian because it's cheaper for broke abdis.
