I have mixed views on Ayaan Hirsi Ali. I agree completely with her critique of Islam and it is validated in part by the thousands of death threats against her. I am troubled, however, by her conversion to Judaism (not exactly the next best thing to Islam) and how she is a useful tool for the neocons.

I think she better than 90% the hablo her age tho.
Intelligent women she is, many Saudi women send her personal emails of issues they face in the worlds most mysogonistic country so she has a fan base. Many people look up to her, and she shines light on the problems with Islam, however she does in in an antagonised manner, where it comes across as appeasing the right wing nut jobs who wish all Muslims to be dead. One can open Muslims minds on the issues faced with their religion by having a sensitive argument that doesn't come across as derogatory.

Christopher Hitchens called her "one of the greatest public intellectuals to come out of Africa"

She's an extremely intelligent woman, even though shes misguided when it comes to Islam.

If she's the worst of MJ, i will take that as a compliment :trumpsmirk:

The first time I heard about Ayan Hirsi is when I came across a book that was written by her at my old school's library. I picked up the book then took it home at that time I didn't know that she was an atheist I just happened to see a book written by a Somali lady.
I read her story then after a few chapters, it then became apparent that she was talking about the prophet pbuh in a negative light. After a few days of reading the book, my mother found the book in my room. She wasn't very happy that I was reading her book and she wanted me to return it to the school library asap.

Don't know why anyone would defend her. She's intellectually dishonest and an opportunist. She falsely claimed to be a refugee to gain sharci and she speaks out against that. f*ck her!!!! She's a tool.

Yh although I don't necessarily like her message and the way she presents it, she does touch on key issues that many women have to deal with such as forced marriages etc.
