What are your thoughts on solo travel?

I’ve been seeing more people getting into it but I don’t really see the appeal. I already spend quite a bit of time by myself so why would I want to go on vacation and also be alone? It’s more fun with other people. There are also so many countries that aren’t safe to travel to alone as a woman.

I like going on trips with one or two other people that are drama free, not stupid/gullible and not broke. Solo travel isnt really my thing.

How about yall? Has anyone here ever solo travelled?

I don't think women should travel alone. Always think of safety.

I know about people who solo travel as men and even they will come into very sketchy situations. Being a female you're at a physical disadvantage. I'm sure a place like Norway will be relatively safe but I don't think that is where people go when they want to get a tan or get in touch with an "exotic" part of the world. In those places, there are added risks.

I like solo travel. I realized a few years ago I can't fully depend on my friends to be interested in everything I wanted to do. Ive already attended certain events either by myself or with a date just simply because my close friends weren't as interested.

Don't miss out on things your interested in just simply because you might have to go alone.

Please don’t solo travel as a woman. I know that women in this day and age have come far in terms of education, jobs and the like but unfortunately, it’s still a man’s world and some men will try and take advantage of a woman roaming around on her own. Don’t be fooled by these travel vlogs of women gallivanting, especially when they go to third world countries by themselves. The world still isn’t safe for women. Go with a group of people or even better, your husband/ brother ect.

As a major traveler, as a man, I have encountered close calls but thanks to my Geeljire background I have escaped with my life.

one time a knife was pulled on me, with the grace of god I ran like Usain Bolt. I jumped over an obstacle that I would otherwise wouldn’t be able to.

Only in developed 1st world countries like Japan, Australia, Switzerland etc is it OK.

India, Morocco and Egypt is definitely a no go zone for most women that wants to travel alone.

I don’t believe a woman is going to be danger in most to most western countries because of the justice system here protects women at all cost. Third world countries and non-Anglo speaking counties should only be considered a protection protocol where guardian should stay with them at all cost.


The only exceptional non English speaking country that I think it’s better to travel is Japan.
