The big picture: There are many reasons contributing to the rise of interracial dating and marriages in the U.S., The Guardian reports:
- Acceptance of interracial couples has steadily grown — though unique challenges and stressors for these couples still exist. Many interracial couples in the U.S. are feeling anxiety, "with heated public debate on issues involving racial justice, immigration, and even direct attacks on minority groups," CBS News "Sunday Morning" reported.
- America is increasingly diverse — and is projected to have a majority minority population by 2045, increasing the diversity of potential romantic partners.
- Younger Americans are more educated than ever. There's a higher rate of interracial marriage among those with more education, studies show.
Went from 3% all the way to 20%. That's a significant increase.

Went from 3% all the way to 20%. That's a significant increase.
Segmentation/Disaggreation by ethnicity is required not merely just a reporting of approval rates or overall trends increasing over time since Loving v. Virginia (which we are aware of). We have next to no data on Somalis other than anecdotal accounts.
I'm not happy or mad about it. Don't think it is a big deal, especially since we all live, work and go to school together. It is inevitable.

Nowhere in my original statement did I mention the Somali diaspora. I was merely stating that "interracial marriages are growing and rising" in general are growing and backed it up with reserach.

Think ab it. Certain cuisine are enjoyed by the whole world like Indian food and others cuisine like Kazakstani n Peru food is only eaten by their own.
