I just seen this tweet by a Kenyan senator announcing a campaign to rid his county of Somali camel herders


Also looks like the county governments are willing to spend their resources to drive out Somali herders

Are you sure that’s a Somali? I don’t know much about the Somalis living there but is that place far from Garissa?

Please know what propaganda looks like because it’s staring at you at the face. I’m not saying this to sound condescending, bc it makes no sense for a Somali to be trying to integrate in a completely different tribal territory. Thirld world countries use propaganda just like the west but the funny thing is that they’re bad at utilising it. Just look at Afghanistan and how they use propaganda to persecute the hazaras. It sounds like they’re using Somalis as a scapegoat for their drought problems or other tribal conflict. It would be easier for them to blame those murders on a completely different ethnic group.

There are large areas of Kitui county that are not suitable for agriculture, sheep or cattle. These areas have tall trees that can only be grazed by camels. The Kamba don’t herd camels, so this land is useless to them.

They are angry that Somalis are making use of this land and profiting.
