Somalia is just very aid dependent. 19% of GNI coming from aid is very precarious. It means we cannot feed ourselves if donor goodwill disappeared tomorrow. If a conventional war were to begin in Eastern Europe and/or Taiwan ODA could fall by >50%. That could mean a 10% contraction in GNI. This would spell famine for millions in Somalia.
It doesn’t really cost that much to feed people, and somalias GNI is very undercounted.
