The chant i think says 《يا حكومة صحي النوم، لا صومالي بعد اليوم》
Meaning 《O government wake up from sleep, no Somali after today》

I found this in a thread and it’s Yemenis (Akhdam) protesting against Somali presence in Yemen :mjlaugh: anyone who speaks Arabic please translate @Riftvalley

This video is old. But they're chanting, saying "Government after today no more Somalis in the town Qa'atabah". The people chanting are former slaves brought from East Africa who are so poor they're just on the street begging and picking out things from the bin. The title of the video even says "Protest demonstrations by the marginalized against the presence of Somalis". It's the poor hating on guys trying to make a living and not they're masters. Its common practice

I struggle. My family moved to Egypt and went to School there. I was relatively young. Moved to Sweden too, so I know Swedish too. Cant really write because I was so young and forgot as I grew up. Then moved to England and I can speak English. Can write it too ofc. Somali too cause I'm Somali. I'm not perfect at the languages and some dialects are hard for Arabic countries. The way Swedish ppl speak is horrible too. Went there a year ago and my accent is actually terrible. Can hold a convo tho. Even though sometimes if ppl speak too advanced, I struggle

For dugsi, better at quranic arabic, eh at regular fusha, cant undeestand dialect. Also the video had auto generated subtitles and on yt theres an auto translate feature
I understand arabic syntax better than somali :wow: Because there's so much resources for arabic and the grammar is nice and consistent whilst somali just based on vibes and location. Mans need to make lisan al sumali and ajurumiya now
