Firstly, it’s lazy and incorrect. The East Africans from great lakes don’t get called “Lakers.” West Africans don’t get called “Westers.” So why do we Horn Africans get called “Horner”?

What do you think of people who abbreviate the already short name "Somali" to "Mali"?

In my opinion it sounds retarded and I will consider anyone using the word as retarded. One of the reasons why I reject the umbrella them black is because it erases my ethnic origin and identity. So using Mali is even worse because people might associate it with the country Mali.

Personally, since we’re so culturally similar I don’t mind the others being included in the “Horn African” category.

This is good and Somalia joining the EAF will make Somalia an important shipping lane for sub saharan Africa. Its good for Somali diplomacy and trade. I believe its important for us to isolate us more from Ethiopia a hostile nation hellbent on ethnically cleanse us. Somalia has everything it needs. A strategic geographic location, lots of resources and if we join EAC access to food secure countries. With our oil we could produce fertilizers and be profit immensely by exporting it to these sub saharan african countries such as Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and other agriculture driven economies. We might not even need to produce it because Saudi is a leading producer too. We just need to build our ports and keep the supply line safe just like Djibouti is doing. Somaliland is important we either need to take over it and kick the secessionist out by force; bribe them or make some kind of deal that will make them abandon secessionism cause we need Berbera to outperform Djibouti and let them join us. We also need to keep good diplomacy with Eritrea so we can further Isolate Ethiopia. We never gonna make the same mistake as we did 1977, we need economic and diplomatic warfare not physical. Physical is only defense. We need a US-China relationship with Ethiopia where as Ethiopia is China and we are the United States.
