We need to plant more trees

I hate to go back to this topic but we desperately need to plant more trees. Watching videos of how china artificially planted 480 million trees to increase their forest coverage to 23% is so inspirational. We can easily turn our shitty deserts into lush green lands with fertile soil, encompassed by rivers and forests. Sometimes i wish our ancestors didn't cut down as many trees and looked after the environment. However we can still strive to make our country beautiful and green again through sheer will and determination.

There are underground aquifers that could be used if the government would fund it. Most water comes from rain, aquifers and mountain highland regions.

Spain is semi arid like somalia and has an average rainfall of 650mm the same as south somalia. We have enough rain to have forests like spain, however we don't have a government that invests in infrastructure like dams and hydro-logical means of producing water through aquifers.

Planting local trees is the most suitable way
But puntland is a desert so there are no native trees that will be wiped out from competition. Plus we need to choose nice and appropriate foreign trees to increase the biodiversity in areas such as puntland where there is only good soil and no trees that will be invaded by other non somali species. Trees from australia and south africa are nice and Drought resistant and would suit our climate. Sometime you need to think outside the box sxb.

You have to compare the climate and rainy seasons. Somalia has two rainy seasons. And you have to take account of the temperature. Luuq is an oven and in the southern lowlands while Hargeysa has mild weather and is in a mountainous area. So you would need to take those factors into account.
