When I saw Bladerunner 2042, I believed this reality will happen in the future, far from us.

Although AI chatbots have always existed, albeit in far simpler forms, it was inevitable that a tech business would capitalise on the greatest societal need. The yearning for romance.

With Replika You can converse with an AI companion bot, about a wide range of topics. Nonetheless, they are extremely frugal with their services, just as any mobile apps with paywalls. Upon purchasing a subscription, you have the choice to engage in inappropriate conversation with the AI, and you can even allow it to show you vague lewd images of itself.

When the developers disabled the feature, this story takes a rather grim turn. On the company's Sub-Reddit community, all hell broke loose. Because for many people losing their AI girlfriend was the only thing they had left in this world, the development team posted suicide hotline numbers on their website. which is sad there was a demand for such a thing.

I firmly believe that having a relationship with a human will become obsolete once AI robot women are available. Instead of you, bring your parents your ideal girlfriend/boyfriend. You'll have a charging adapter with you. In the most likely case, your Somali parents would inquire about the robot's qabil of origin before quickly rejecting it.

With the already population decline of developed nations like japan, south Korea, Somaliland, America and Sweden. The progress of technology would be the final nail in the coffin.

I would like to sit here and laugh at these over reactions however the way replika marketed this ai chatbot is unethical. They gave a promise to horny and lonely people a chance of rekindling some parts of their soul.This could only truly be done by a human because that gives the relationship value when both party consent.
