There's a fiery debate in the Muslim community on who Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab was. Proponents of Ibn Abdul Wahhab say he was a righteous Sheikh who seen many aspects of "ignorance", "shirk", "Innovation", and wanted to guide his society and the wider Ummah back to the original teachings of Islam. Critics of Ibn Abdul Wahhab say he was a fanatic extremist who's the ideological father of modern day extremism and terrorism happening in some parts of Muslim countries. They say the Najdi dawah is a cult that Takfirs Muslims for being in violation of their doctrine. Critics also blame the Najdi Dawah (Also known as Wahhabism amongst Western journalists/Media/Academics) for driving terror and corruption in Muslim lands. Many Muslims have accused the Najdi Dawah of Ibn Abdul Wahhab of being a driving force behind the rising Islamophobia in this world. What do you think? feel free to state your opinions.
Bro Haji (A Muslim Dawah Youtuber) criticizes the works of Ibn Abdul Wahhab in his series on Najdiyyah:
Yasir Qadhi, a well known prominent Sheikh in the Western Muslim community has also come out and criticized Ibn Abdul Wahhab and said he's no longer a follower of him. Yasir says Ibn Abdul Wahhab fought other Muslims who he considered to be Kaffirs. Yasir further elaborates by saying "He considered the Ottoman empire in it's totality a pagan empire and anyone who supported the Ottoman state to be Kaffirs; if you weren't with his group then he considered you to be an Apostate." Yasir said "What this individual did in waging war and considering the rest of the Ummah to be Kaffir is essentially what ISIS is doing in our times."
