Volunteer work

Has anyone done volunteer work in another country, e.g. Somalia? I'm so interested in doing that.

The only volunteer work I've done is at my dad's place. Other than that, I tried volunteering at this animal shelter, but my mother told me that I couldn't go because I would've touched dogs.

I am raising money for a stage assembly for a secondary school.

Pretty much nothing to do back home unless you're there for work but people do volunteer, lots of diaspora come just for the experience on volunteering for UN & NGO orgs.

He works as a translator but I haven't seen him in over 10 years the guy lives in Nairobi I live in angola, luanda

Why don't you volunteer in your adopted country and help the Somali community there by translating, helping kids with homework etc etc. Going abroad for volunteer work is a facade and more of an adventure. What kind of difference can one make duirng a summer break of 6 weeks? Do community work, it's much more rewarding.

Don't volunteer at Mogadishu, that place is dangerous for unsuspecting Diaspora somalis, unless you grew up there and already know your way...
