I've never been out of America and want to visit the motherland.

Has anyone been to Djibouti?
Is it safe ? It's possible I might visit somalia, my grand father's brothers live there and their families.

I didn’t think it was safe for a while, but my cousin recently went to Mogadishu for three months, and she loved it. It depends on where your grandfather’s brothers live since my cousin was in a compound area that had guards. My cousins felt safe enough to walk at night and the house they were in is similar to the ones in the states. Ask your family about any safety issues in the area you would be going? I haven’t seen anything about safety issues in Djibouti. The beaches look nice.

Nigga your cousin had guards. Is her dad some govt official or something.

OP I stay in a house in Yaaqshiid (Xamar) I ain’t got personal guards :ftw9nwa::ftw9nwa: but I don’t need them. I don’t know much about Djibouti but I know that place is an oven so choose a month that’s not as hot. :)

R u mentally prepared to travel overseas?

Djibouti is hella safe, but, it is expensive af. So expect your wallet to be empty by the time you came back.

I've been to djbouti once via dallo airlines from djbouti city to hargeysa. But, I remember one time those djboutian cops were flirting with a woman. However, in hargeysa it would be like " war ninyo, iskailly gubbarda habed skadoofo wa gabbard sexy "

Mogadishu is dangerous.

Mogadishu is dangerous.

What is with the qashin rating? Nobody is saying it isn’t dangerous. I’m saying that it depends on the area you’ll be staying at. Some parts of Mogadishu are safer than others. Plenty of people go there every year who don’t feel unsafe.

She didn’t have personal guards. She was in a gated community.
