Cushitic is the Better name
Cushitic is a term that was coined in the late 19th by linguists to group certain languages in Africa thought to be "related".
For some reason, the label has yet to be updated. For example, "Afro-Asiatic Languages" was once known as "Hamito-Semitic".

Somali people, according to archeology and tradition are a mix between people who used to reside in
The Land of Punt/Southern Arabian peninsula and portions of Hijaz regions.

Where did you get this goofy idea that Somalis are mix of Arabs and ancient Horners? Sounds like the old discredited Hamitic theory.

Ultimately, nobody knows for certain about the origins of the Somali people.

However, considering that the regions Somalis inhabit are most likely to have been the place where
  • The Land of Punt was located
  • First domestication of Camels occurred

And considering our Nomadic tribal lifestyle resembles that of the Middle-East, a region where Camels are just as culturally valuable.

It is not a farfetched idea that we Somalis are a mix of ancient
"Horners" and ancient "Middle-Easterners".

This also goes inline with our traditional narratives and gives a plausible reason
as to how we accepted Islam and still have our own language intact.

Walaal that Nasheed is lit. I can listen to it for ages!

I heard it before but thanks for posting it.

Can you please delete that video? Thanks pal.

... No seriously, what's up with the first 5 seconds?

An Arab dude singing in Somali is counterintuitive to a Somali script.

Cushitic is the Better name
Old name for the language family was Hamito-Semitic, but that was too politically incorrect. US Black scholars vehemently tried to destroy the Hamitic myth, hence it got changed to more neutral Afro-Asiatic.

:siilaanyolaugh: Well, the video was about to be titled "Our African-Arabian Heritage". It's not too late to rename it.
That sounds better, please change it to "African-Arabian heritage".
