Maybe in Southern Somalia, I've been in Puntland for the past few weeks and there isn't any famine anywhere. People are still donating to the poor (mobile money) and markets thriving. We're living the life up here :pachah1:

Wow after reading some of the comments there was a lot of ecofacism.

“stop having babies”

“They’re paying the price cuz of Islam”

truly disgusting comments

We’ve also been hit with drought, especially our rural community. Not at the rate Southern Somalis have been though because we are more concentrated in cities.

"realistic"
This will be the scenario
Somalia continues to dry up and as you know Ethiopia is the largest water reservoir in Africa. They will blackmail Somalis for water. And in the end we all be happy Ethiopians, have water
This is the future ahead

With a rise of Deforestation throughout Southern Somalia from terrorist groups like Al Shabab this has completely destroyed the previously green fertile arable lands of the south, a continuation of this will cause more problems
Al Shabab primarily gain their income from charcoal

Yes, this how they see it while eating their burritos and causing climate change. Yet Somalis fight over which qabiil you are

It has nothing to do with climate change but rather little to no agronomic skills, not following soil and water conservation practices, overgrazing, chopping down trees, corruption, terrorism, political instability, the list is endless. It's been happening for millenia and its dangerous to be repeating this leftist talking point by aid organizations and moronic ministers who think their only job is photo op and faan and with their own motives because you never address the root cause this way. Why is the conversation never about improving food security and the steps needed to achieve that? Why is the priority always about securing some bags of wheat and money from whitey? If anything, your relatives are the ones putting carbon into the atmosphere and turning into into Co2 thanks to the chopping for the charcoal trade.

Somalis always died of famine. It’s why our population is so low compared to our neighbours.

With worldwide aid we now have a ballooning population with as little food production decades ago. Part of this is because we are a rural society but also because the farming south is occupied by Shabaab. In a stable and secure Somalia food costs would be a 1/10th of what it is now and food produced in Shabellaha and lower could reach Hargesia very cheaply.

You’d quickly see the profit motive in food drive up production of it. So till Shabaab is destroyed we’ll always be in this position

Wow. The Somali Donald Trump.

I've been saying this has everything to do with climate change for decades now.

The way some of you blame the Somali nomads for something they didn't cause while sitting in the comfort of your western home is something else. I'm really starting to see why the diaspora is disliked.
