US Capitol: Police officer dies after car rams security barrier

The driver of the vehicle was shot dead by police after lunging at officers with a knife.

1. Capitol Police say a suspect "rammed a vehicle" into officers at a vehicle access point to the Capitol complex in Washington
2. The suspect then got out of the vehicle holding a knife and ran towards officers
3. One officer has died of their injuries, another is hurt. The suspect died after being shot by police
4. Capitol police say the incident "does not appear to be terrorism-related"
5. It happened at the North Barricade vehicle access point on Constitution Avenue
6. The US Capitol complex has been locked down
7. In January a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol in protest at the result of the 2020 presidential election

I know this is not the correct thread. However, I need to state that if the perpetrator looked Middle Eastern, they'd suspect him to be terrorists until proven otherwise. In contrast, a western person gets the benefit of the opposite.
