He went from a nomad to studying at the prestigious Illinois university called Northwestern in 1971.
He did his PHD dissertation on Somali patriotism and Sayid Abdalla Hassan.
In his final years of life he was teaching Rutgers university in NJ

This is Professor Hussein Mohamed Adam “Tanzania”.
His father traveled to Tanzania from British Somaliland in the early 1900s. He married a Timajileec. He was also mixed with a local indigenous African tribe. His Somali Qabiil is Ciidagale.
He holds the honorific title of being the first Somali to have ever entered Harvard and who has graduated from it.
He taught at the Ivy League of Somali universities called Lafoole.
He was called down by Siyad Barre to teach in Somalia.
He made the earliest known Somali documentary. A documentary that was produced and narrated by him.
He was last teaching at the Holly Cross.
