Ofcourse its a temporary solution to the qabil issue, but once the country is stable and powerful we can slowly implement change that leads us to the greater somalia dream​

Also the president has the highest seat in the nation and nobody is above him. There needs to be a supreme court to combat corruption. Foreign born and educated judges who should be paid enough so that they dont fall pray to petty bribes. And like America the presidents salary should only consist of public appearances and speeches. His Income must also be tracked by the supreme court. The court should also have one member from each tribe to combat favoritism.​

I was talking about secularism in my post (although think it would be the ideal form of governing). I was talking about combating the 4.5 and qabil favoritism + corruption issue.​

Somalia's governmental problems are the easiest to understand in the world. There are a million different ways to solve them, but applying them is nearly impossible. You speak of a supreme court but who's going to enforce their ruling? Why would you expect foreign Somalis to do any better than the natives? Somalia has the highest number of dual citizenship government officials in the world and they've all been 'educated' abroad. They're just as corrupt, if not worse because they know they'll have somewhere to flee when shit goes down. Why do you think they build big ass houses abroad? We're never going to get anywhere depending on foreign coin. There is only one way forward

i think the concept of somaliweyn and "unity" is too forward thinking for somalis and their current situation. we need to take what we already have and make it better. Both qabil favoritism and corruption can be ended with the above. in the future when the middle class rate becomes higher then the poor, then can we eliminate qabil entirely.

I think you're simultaneously overestimating foreign-born/raised Somalis and underestimating native Somalis. I don't think that the problem is that Somalis in Somalia are unable to produce competent politicians, but more so that the way the government and Somalia is right now it's simply unfavorable to 'honest' politicians. The sole thing severely handicapping Somalia is corruption. I'm personally convinced that if we eliminate the majority of the corruption going on, we'll figuratively solve 90% of the problems overnight.

The solution? inb4 I come over as a foaming at the mouth die hard right-wing nutcase, a totalitarian dictatorship. I'm actually a hippie lefty irl I promise. The democracy is Somalia is a sham because the general public is uneducated, just look at our abysmal literacy rate. Corruption is inherently present in democracies but the idea is to limit it as much as possible, like in Western countries. Democracy only works when the voting public knows just what the f*ck is going on and what's in their own best interest. Otherwise it only serves few at the expense of many, hence the reason qabil politics is a big thing in Somalia. When in doubt, just vote for uncle's cousin's brother's wife's father or whatever. Not to mention the fact that other countries are meddling in internal affairs and our 'democracy' gives them power to interfere and destabilize us further. I think it's stupid and dangerous to try and emulate a Western government system without having the necessary tools to implement and maintain it.

I don't want a permanent dictatorship, but I do think it's necessary until we can bring stability and progress to the country, and hopefully switch over to a democratic system in the future. All we need is stability to tap into our natural resources to make real progress. Somalia's annual GDP is like 6 billion which is utterly pathetic. IIRC oil reservoirs are estimated to be up to a third of Saudi Arabia. Some decent oil production could literally multiply the amount of capital flowing around in a year. After that just focus on security and utilising other resources we have.

But alas, we do not have a real national army so a totalitarian dictatorship is nothing but a pipe dream.
