In an exclusive interview, one of the UK's leading forensic scientists has questioned the quality of CCTV facial comparison used in criminal convictions. Speaking to this programme the former forensic regulator Professor Gillian Tully has questioned the quality of facial comparison and warned there was a risk of miscarriages of justice. This programme has also heard from the parents of a young man convicted with the help of CCTV evidence and jailed for 18 years. His parents insist it's a case of mistaken identity.

That kid looks at least 10 years younger than whoever is on that CCTV.

But you never know.

Person A looks like a 40 years old thug mooryaan while Liban looks like a teenager on his way to football game

I was gonna say the same but I felt like 10 years was a more conservative estimate.

It’s defo mistaken identity if that’s what they’re relying on for the case.

They look like brothers but not the sme person. Shit, somalis may need some alibis in the future. War siinaysata o garac sameysta, become genetically ambiguous!

It's a fact that people have more problems to differentiate people from a different race/ethnicity.

It's like when all Asian look alike for us ,but for them they can tell differences.
