Hafun isn’t strategic enough since they’re already on socorta. It’s too far away from major population centers so I’m going to say this is fake news. They haven’t built their naval base off the coast of berbera and that’s far more strategic since they don’t have any bases leading up to the Red Sea. I’m not sure if they even built the one they wanted to in Eritrea.

I heard Germans had an offer on the table back in the 1980s but SSDF refused and bare didn’t want keep fighting with them so he turned it down as part of the peace agreement with the rebels. Germany wanted to have a military base in Hafun and also build the biggest casino in Africa. I welcome this deal if the federal government is on board.
