The US is engaging in straight-up sea piracy. I get it the US can impose sanctions using the dominance of the almighty dollar, but the physical seizure of oil tankers belonging to foreign countries is way overboard and not a good precedent for future as other countries will do the same and there will be no argument the US can use to call for law and order.
The US might be trying to provoke Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz and start a war.
I hope the US returns the tankers back to Iran. This is just not right. There is no international law saying that countries can not deliver fuel to Venezuela.
Let me guess Russia will step in and start escorting Iranian tankers bound to Venezuela in the future.
