Women shouldn’t be in the army
What are the odds they become ghanima if they're captured?
Somali women should be represented at all levels if they are qualified. Our institutions should not be barred for anyone.
Firearms level the playing field, there’s nothing telling me the female soldiers wouldn’t produce results. We were the first producer of a female pilot within our Air Force, we went backwards with qabil, going backwards in toxic patriarchy when we need every able body against AS is vile.

I think the whole discussion is another reason why women shouldn't be in the army. I am not saying from my viewpoint but- as far as the Islamic viewpoint, as far as I'm aware there's not really any question that women should not be in the army- with the exception of if the Muslim land is invaded, in which case the women may have to fight as well.
Anyways, I think the whole discussion illustrates a reason women shouldn't be recruited as soldiers. They potentially could be taken by the other side as war booty, whether in this case they'd be up against the khawarij or whoever it is they're up against.
A woman could be sent into battle and then the khawarij or whoever it is could in fact be seeing it as an opportunity to take her captive.
edit: the general rule from the Islamic viewpoint, as far as I'm aware- women should not be in the army. but I want to mention- I don't know all the details of the situation. if the situation is really extreme, maybe women soldiers could be allowed by necesity. but sending women into combat should always be of absolute last resort

There is a reason why fighting is the duty of men. Its not toxic patriarchy, its Islam. Somalia of the past years was different. Your being an idealist, even today vast majority of armed forces around the world is exclusively men.

America allowed more women to fight on the ground just 10 years ago. The women reported increased sexual assaults and harassement, you want that to happen to women? Its a harsh world out there.
Our women already go through enough problems, fighting a war should be last of their concerns.
The women the turks are gonna train will not participate in combat, Im sure of that. In times of peace I would have been okay with it but we need trained men for war. We cannot waste time and resources. Giving our shidaal and malay to these guys should come with better and crucial investments.
