The amount of times Abe is heading towards DC is clear proof who has a bigger say in Trump ear and yes he will definitely consult him on other operational areas, heck he is a performer. That is probably what Trump wants for a Russia, at the same level, a board member. It's like Amazon Jeff Bezo saying to walmart, I want you apart of the investor group and board member of Amazon.
That Amazon is America and Walmart is Russia. It would be easier doing a merge then asking one to step down as a franchise and join the board of another franchise. It will be difficult as hell to get Russia to accept a board status when it knows clearly it's status, history, and capability in security innovation and it's well laid foreign policy,(unethical) of course but it's a gun to your head, especially around high stake areas like the mid-east and it's energy contribution to the world.
