so the strategy behind this, is that Hassan is helping Ruto get re-elected by getting rid of raila who is his biggest opposition, and putting him in AU. Last time raila almost threw kenya into chaos because he didn’t win. If raila wins, he will recognize NW seccessionist movement in Somalia. This is a good thing. Ruto is a Somali ally that Somalis helped get elected, and they’re trying to keep him there.

It would help ruto in re-election. Raila is his biggest opposition, he can get rid of him by sending him to AU. His party is hanaq about him running in AU since they want raila to beat ruto next election. Ruto will owe Somalia/hassan sheikh for clearing the way for raila to take AU seat.
