Its a true story.
At some time before the Somali civil war a group of French (maybe British) soldiers were digging (I think it was in Somaliland) where rumors among reer baadiya was that a treasure was buried somewhere in a specific baadiya (rural area).
The soldiers digging found a horse sculpture made of solid gold. At that moment a big earthquake shook the ground and the soldiers abandoned any further digging.
The story was aired at a Somali channel (I think it was Somali channel) and the person telling was a Madow.
I’ve been looking for the video but can’t find it. It was perhaps 5-6 years ago or more.
If there is a treasure then it should be dug and we should build a museum to attract tourists.
