Its a true story.

At some time before the Somali civil war a group of French (maybe British) soldiers were digging (I think it was in Somaliland) where rumors among reer baadiya was that a treasure was buried somewhere in a specific baadiya (rural area).

The soldiers digging found a horse sculpture made of solid gold. At that moment a big earthquake shook the ground and the soldiers abandoned any further digging.

The story was aired at a Somali channel (I think it was Somali channel) and the person telling was a Madow.

I’ve been looking for the video but can’t find it. It was perhaps 5-6 years ago or more.

If there is a treasure then it should be dug and we should build a museum to attract tourists.

Does anyone know of this story?

I thought the foreign soldiers only came to Mogadishu (before the residents showed them what was what :siilaanyolaugh:). Maybe the story is set in the colonial days?

What would suleiman's treasure be doing in our country of all places. In hindsight he may of predicted that no man would want to step in that country so kudos to him, i know i would bury my treasure there.
