I won’t lie. It’s nice having very soft hair. Much easier to deal with I guess. Black Barbars used to refuse to cut my extremely soft hair. So I go to Indians and Pakistani Barbars

but people with soft hair are likely to get bald. It runs in my family so sooner or later it will happen I fear. But shaving to zero will do Insha Allah

most Somalis don’t have jarer anyways they have North African type hair.

in hs my barber told me i was gonna go bald in 10 years.

its been 14 years still got crisp hairline. alhamdulilah.

I have hard hair in a family of jileec. i feel like im discriminated aganist ngl

Having type 3 hair sucks (which vast majority of the so called jileec somalis have) in general, its all right when it's short but once it grows out you get an afro which without combing leads to the homeless look, is difficult to maintain in general and can get very messy.

When i was a child i use to have 4A type hair. It was so painful getting my hair done but Mashallah my hair was very thick. Well I hated it so i made so much duaa to get thin soft hair. Then over the years my hair became 3b but i miss having thick hair. :( I would take short and thick over long and thin hair any day. Be careful what you wish for!

LG gang we gon slide for my nigga 🤐🥷
Ion got timo madow but u can make it work tbh so much styles u can get twists, braids, cornrows, dreads etc plus timojileec is more sensitive u gotta treat it delicately or it’ll look shit.

That’s a myth, timo madow also suffer from receding hairline. Doesn’t matter what hair type you have, if you have the baldness gene you will be bald. For example look at former Somali president Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed AUN, he had the most timo jileec somali guy I have ever seen. Yet he had a great hair, still had hair well into his 70s.

How hard is it ? Are we talking African coco pops type jarer where it’s like daqsi type ?

Make dua once more!

what’s your hair routine and do you take any vitamins to help your hair?

Grow your hair out till it reaches your shoulders. It won’t be an Afro at that stage if you look after it.

We have different hair textures in my house too. Mom’s hair is too cadaan. It’s nothing to be envious about honestly. It’s not very versatile. You can do a lot more with curlier or kinkier hair. It’s a shame some families still make a point of pointing out differences in the family. it’s how Allah made someone. Doesn’t make one better over the other.
