Thinking ahead to the next phases of this military mission What do you guys think is the most reasonable timeline for freeing these two regions can we expect it by the end of 2024 by the time atmis leaves or by the end of hsm first term in 2026

How realistic is it to evacuate civilians and then carpet bomb every single of them there? My patience is honestly starting to wear out

I think that Middle Jubba alongside Lower Shabeele will be the last regions to liberate as it would require significant resources compared to the other regions. Maybe western part of Middle Jubba would be liberated while Gedo and Lower Jubba is being cleared.

Do we know what regions they will start with the second phase outside of western Hiiraan? I hope they evaluate and prioritizes regions where the locals clans are fully onboard so we don't waste time and resources like the past months now.

All I know is that we need to be more intelligent with the JL and KG liberation. We need to thoroughly understand the clan dynamics of Middle Juba . Then use divide and conquer. We would need a lot of resources to pull this off plus a Darood president who isn’t anti JL.

Middle juba is easy to liberate jubaland troops have cleared out jilib shabab defense last month the problem is Mogadishu is keeping the weapons required for this big of a region since 2012. They have been killing jubaland with fgs signature while busy giving weapons to
Shabab in galgadud.

I hope both kgs and jl can be liberated millitarily by 2025 inshallah. The long term war against shabaab especially ideologically will take much longer. But hopefully we can liberate middle jubba and take over there bases in the next couple of years.
