Pound is collapsing, in my childhood I remember it at 1.5+ we’ve been heading downward for a while since Brexit but today the new PM announced a terrible fiscal budget. All the investors are dumping the pound and U.K. debt

Be honest, USA is way better than Canada, in the US, wages are way higher plus much cheaper houses than Canada, the weather is much better in USA. In Canada the gov will take nearly half of your taxes, crap weather etc. Theres absolutely no point for reer Canada to live in Canada, they should take whatever opportunity to move to USA for a higher standard of living.

The only good thing about Canada is free healthcare but even that is in danger of getting privatised, and a bit safer than USA, other than that, USA is better at everything. No wonder there’s brain drain highly skilled workers from Canada leaving for USA.

It's both:

1) in times of uncertainty, Investors flock to the US dollar. This is why the dollar has strengthened Vs the pound, euro, CAD, AUD etc

2) the new UK prime minister and chancellor announced insane new fiscal policies today : they're giving the richest a tax cut, and corporations too, even tho they just borrowed a serious amount of money, at a time when borrowing is becoming expensive. They have no real plan to pay it back. Everyone is skeptical of this, investors included.
