Ethiopia has the most incompetent military for a huge country. It took only 200k tigray fighters who are fighting on 3 fronts (Eritrea, amharas and Ethiopian military) to be already nearing the capital. The amharas militias are also weak fighters.

Not really. Somalia does barely any trading with Ethiopia but Djibouti will definitely suffer economically. Somalia will get to receive lots of UN aids for hosting Ethiopian refugees.

Djibouti’s real economy is entirely dependent on it’s port that services Ethiopian import goods so this could weaken them too

Ethiopia is like Yemen. A country on the edge of collapse held together by a clever and resourceful dictator (Zenawi/Salah) The lower vacuum they left behind is going to tear the country into pieces like Somalia.

We are just rising up from the ashes and we can barely help our own people right now let alone refugees. Plus Tigray got plenty of Ethiopian prisoners of war. For a small region with a small militia, I’m impressed. If Ethiopia is this incompetent then Somalis should take full advantage, and it’s a shame we don’t.

If Somalis were smart, they would need to find ways to smuggle these refugees into other countries so they don’t fill up ours or find some other way that doesn’t harm us. Ethiopia collapsing is always in our best interests and if such an opportunity arises at any given point, we should take complete advantage.

This just shows how fragile of a country Ethiopia really is and that 77 war was a mistake.
